Queen of the Valley Medical Center Awarded Three-Year Accreditation in Mammography

Issue: December 2009

Queen of the Valley Medical Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Headquartered in Reston, VA, the ACR awards accreditation to facilities for achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice.

“We are pleased to receive this affirmation of our professional qualifications, technological capabilities, clinical quality, customer service and reporting accuracy,” said Jill Vohs, Director, Imaging and Radiation Oncology.

The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and delivery of comprehensive health care services. Queen of the Valley Medical Center has ACR accreditation for MRI and is working towards accreditation for CT and PET/CT for the newly installed PET/CT scanner.
