Hospice Offers Support and Counseling Program for Grieving Children and Teens
Issue: October 2009
Hospice of the East Bay’s Center for Grief and Loss is again offering the Footsteps support group for children ages 7 through 18 years who have experienced the death of a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend.
Footsteps is an expressive arts program designed to help children find their way through the process of grief. Footsteps provides an atmosphere of trust, safety and acceptance where children can freely express their thoughts and feelings.
Parents meet at the same time, in their own group, to learn effective ways to communicate with their children about difficult issues related to grief.
The next Footsteps group will meet Tuesday evenings, September 29 - November 3 at Hospice of the East Bay administrative offices in Pleasant Hill. For more information call (925) 887-5678.
